A Quick Update

Celebrating my mom’s 70th birthday at a lovely German restaurant downtown.

Hello friends! This whole blogging (regularly) thing feels so new, like I am learning to walk all over again. But I love it. I thought since it has been a good long while since I posted last, I might begin with a quick update on life as it is now.

We found out a few weeks ago that we are expecting another beautiful GIRL into our family late this summer! The exact due date is August 30, but we all know how arbitrary due dates can be. To be honest, it was somewhat of a shock at first, as my “mother’s intuition” had me, and our entire family, convinced it was a boy.

Also, Matt and I have never wanted more than a family of four, so knowing that this is the family that God has designed specifically for us, and that it may not look like what we thought, is teaching us, once again, to trust. We are so excited that Evie will have a sister and a best friend for life.

After finding out I was pregnant with our second around Christmastime this past year, we decided it was finally time to take the plunge and move into a larger space. We looked and looked all over town, and prayed for God to lead us to the right home. We finally settled on a neighborhood that had been right under our noses all along- literally one mile away from our current house. The neighborhood is beautiful, with so many families, and we chose to purchase new construction since the price was right.

The process has been fairly seamless so far (except when I was asked to pick out soffit colors- first of all, what is a soffit. Second, um. I don’t know what color they should be). Since we live so close by, it has been such a thrill to literally watch the house being built from the ground up. Matt and I go in there almost every day, and dream about what can happen there. We even wrote some scripture verses on the walls in each room. I am so grateful to be able to have this space to welcome new life into, and Matt and I plan on having people over for dinner pretty much every day, since we will finally have a dining room table again.

I am still working with the company I started in 2011, Savvee, and have loved the opportunity to work with team members who are simply amazing women and mothers. I plan to write more about the business in the future, but let’s just say it has been one of the most challenging and fulfilling endeavors I have undertaken, next to motherhood, of course.

So, there are a few highlights!
